芽の出ないアーティストのクリスティーヌ (ミランダ・ジュライ) は、マイ・カーを高齢者専門のカー・サーヴィスに利用してなんとか糊口をしのいでいる。彼女はある日、客と一緒に立ち寄ったデパートの靴売り場で、店員の リチャード (ジョン・ホウクス) に一目惚れしてしまう。リチャードはちょうど妻と別居するあたふたの真っ最中で、二人の息子がいた。クリスティーヌはリチャードの関心を買おうと色々画策 するが、リチャードはいっこうになびかない‥‥
'Me and You and Everyone We Know' is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and "Eldercab" driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard's six-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué Internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen-year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls -- practicing for their future of romance and marriage. sunairi: 話題になりかなりあ後で僕も興味を持ちやっとの事で見ました。先ずはミランダジュライの本が気になり、その後でハレル・フィレチャーとのコンセプチュアルな本を見た。なんか流行かと思い、本を読み始めたら中々。それで映画にも興味が出た。で、映画は、よく出来ていると思う。バランスや、展開のパラドックス的な入り乱れる展開で旨く飽きさせず最後まですっきり見せてくれる。

少し今のジェネレーションエックスを思い出す。ハーモニーコリン、ソニックユースやら、ボアダムス、マイクミルズ、ソフィア・コッポラまで羅列できるくらいに、あのジェネレーション的な映像、色、音楽などなどであった。いいんではないでしょうか？見てよかった、今までのベールに隠れていた物が見えた。
